Fernando Bretos joined the Trident RFC in 1994. Apart from a short stint with the Washington Irish, he has been a mainstay in the Trident 2nd row and back row. With endurance and physicality, he rarely could be subbed out of any game, much to his chagrin. As such, he was a part of multiple State Championship sides. His influence on the club was not limited to the pitch. In 1996, he was elected as Club Treasurer. He later become Vice President and then President. His leadership during the Club's most challenging period kept it solvent and set the stage for it's historic run of four straight State Championships.
