Jorge Gonzalez, who missed out on the Miami Tridents win over Boca last weekend, looks set to return for this weekends trip to Okapi Wanderers. While this will be a boost for the defending State Champions, there is some doubt over the fitness of Connor Christie, who took a rib crunching tackle in the second half of Tridents win over Boca last weekend. Christie will undergo a fitness test later in the week as questions are being asked about what caused Wagner to ship such a brutal pass.
The Miami Tridents travel to Okapi Wanderers this Saturday November 23 for a 2pm game. Okapi made light work of Fort Lauderdale in their opening game of the season back on November 2 with a comprehensive 73-19 win. Their next game was away to Miami RFC on Saturday November 16 which they lost 22-19, while securing a losing bonus point. The Tridents will travel with 2 wins from 2 under their belt but know Okapi are no push over when playing at home.
Coach Miguel Peña said in relation to Christie“"I am hoping he will be available for this week’s game against Okapi. The only update I can give is he actually drank pretty well in Gramps after the game and didn’t look to be showing too many signs of sore ribs as the night progressed.”
